The group met first in 2001. They started playing music when they are very young. Bill and Tom Kaulitz, who twins, started playing guitar at the age of seven. By the time they were teenagers, they were playing in clubs, and Georg Listing and Gustav Schäfer had joined them. At first the were called Devilish, but in 2003 thay canged their name to Tokio Hotel.
Their music is a mix of different styles like pop punk, gothic and sentimental ballads.
The group has won lots of awards, like Best Group at the MTV Europe Awards in November 2009. Their new album, Humanoid, is a big hit.
But Tokio Hotel don't just make hit albums... they aslo perform great live shows with special effects and fantastic costumes. Everywhere they go, they are mer by screaming fans.
